Job Description

Supervising members of the Operations Assistants team which supports the activities of Atrium’s Underwriting and Agency departments.

A key collaborator involved in the strategic planning of the Operations Assistants team and undertake;

Team Task Management

  • Active oversight of all the Operations Assistant team tasks (Underwriting and Operational) including monitoring outstanding volumes and providing strategic guidance on team priorities, especially during busy/high-volume periods, in order to maintain appropriate SLAs (service level agreements) and deliver results
  • Be the primary contact for Operations Assistants, Underwriting and Agency department queries and requests for further assistance, delegating to team members accordingly
  • Establish and achieve regular task management goals/targets through close collaboration with the Operations Manager
  • Conduct regular reviews of workflow data and identify trends
  • Think innovatively through the creation of process improvements • Ensure team process documentation is accurate and regularly updated

Stakeholder Management

  • Attend Underwriting Team meetings and identify further opportunities for Operations Assistants services
  • Effectively liaise on any issues and implement resolutions
  • Regularly seek feedback from others on team performance

Supervision / Team Member Development

  • Supervisory responsibility: providing regular feedback, support and coaching to the Operations Assistants team, conducting performance reviews, including career conversations, alongside the Operations Manager
  • Actively supervise the training of tasks to team members, identifying where further support is required on an individual basis

Miscellaneous

  • Actively involved in recruitment of future team members
  • Be a key driver for team process improvements, collaborating with the I.T department as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Review current and future resourcing requirements based on MI and stakeholder discussions
  • Develop an understanding of the Operations Assistant processes which span both underwriting and operational activities e.g. credit control, claims, outwards reinsurance etc.
  • Underwriting and Operational Support responsibilities such as ensuring timely and accurate data (risk and aggregate) entry and allocation of premium and claims message
